Hey all, I was hoping someone might be able to help me with a few things that have been confusing me. I am an Italian citizen who has been living in the UK for just over three years now. In Jan this year, for various reasons I thought I was going to have to leave the UK so submitted my P85 form. However, now that my situation has changed again I am able to return to the UK and hope to apply to study an undergraduate course at university. As far as I am aware as an EU citizen I am able to get a student loan for the tution fees. And as I have been living and working in the UK for over 3 years am able to apply for a maintance loan. Does the fact I have sumbited a P85 have an impact on my ability to apply for a Maintenance loan? Many thanks!

In my understanding, the facts are that you're an EU national (therefore are viewed the same as a UK student) and are therefore eligable to apply.
The fact you've worked here previously and then left the UK are completely irrelevant to the student application, although someone will no doubt correct me.💙💛 💔0 -
Hey CKhalvashi thanks for the response! From what I read on the gov website was that maintenance loans are only available to UK residents and not EU citizens?0

The fact you left in January should be enough to satisfy residency last tax year, and the fact you intend to return should be the same for this year (it's 90 days if resident for the previous 2 years)
The only advice I can give is to ask the question to them directly.💙💛 💔0 -
