Just had to post cause I'm so happy, just checked my account and some of the PPI pay back that I was waiting for came through today, I allocated the lot, paid the remaining balance off my MBNA card and £700 off my lloyds one. That's 2 debts down 3 to go!! think I'm going to close the MBNA one and keep the lloyds one as the rate is better on it :j

Congratulations and well done on putting the money to good use and paying off a lot of your debt and not thinking yipee I'm rich and having a spend up.
I bet it feels great to see some balances as zero.
Good luckSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

Thanks, I'm waiting for some more to hit my account that should almost wipe off the lloyds one too, I'm hoping to be debt free by Christmas but may just be a little short because of presents. It feels so good, I havent been debt free for 15 years!!
It's so tempting to treat myself a little but I'm moving it out as soon as it comes in to avoid the temptation0 -
Congratulations - one word of warning though and I know this may go against most people on here way of thinking, but be careful when closing accounts. It can have a double negative as well as a single positive:
Negatives
i. average age of revolving credit account can reduce
ii. overall utilisation of credit against credit available can reduce
Positive
i. closed account would show as settled0 -

You are doing the right thing
Just imagine the feeling when you are DEBT FREE :j Then you could give yourself a little treat and not feel guilty about it.

That's exactly my thought!! The first month I haven't got debts to pay I'm going to treat myself and it will be sweeter knowing I don't owe anything for it :dance:0 -
I have a little way to go before I will be debt free but so many stories on here inspire me to keep going. Its all possible.
Then I will definitely be treating myself with no guilt involvedSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000
