Do I have to hand over P45?

Hi all
Earlier this year I was dismissed from a job during my probation period. It was for two reasons
a/ The role was actually more technical than sold to me at interview stage
b/ A member of staff of 15 years standing took an instant dislike to me. I was her direct line manager and she refused to be managed by me.
Within a few days senior management still hadn't dealt with the issue and it was then I realised that my days were numbered. Do they put a member of staff of 15 years through a disciplinary? Or simply get rid of her new manager who is on probation. The latter occurred.
It didn't bother me as if senior management are that spineless then I'm better finding out sooner rather than later.
My CV doesn't contain details of the job and as far as I'm concerned it didn't happen (Try explaining a dismissal to a potential employer regardless of the reasons).
Problem is my P45 does contain details of this employer.
My question is can I simply say to any new employer that I've lost it and be put on emergency tax until my tax office find a new code for me?

If the P45 is from the previous tax year (before April 6 2015) it's irrelevant anyway.0

Just tell your new company that you don't have one.....they then give you a form to fill in or something similar.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

As an employer, it wouldn't bother me seeing a short period of employment as long as it was mixed with longer periods. Sometimes jobs don't work out, far better for employer and employee to quit before it becomes an issue. I'd just say in an interview that the job was not as you had been led to believe and you parted on good terms - even if you haven't.
I really wouldn't like to find out at a later date that I have been lied to by omission, that would make me wonder what had gone on.0
