CV query

Hi all, in my job I often cover in two senior roles for holiday and sickness, how do I write this into my CV as it isn't my actual job and don't want to mislead anyone in thinking I actually have those roles though I am trained in them.

It depends how you have your CV set out, but you could just put the jobs down as you have with the rest of your employment history but add cover onto the end. Perhaps indent the part about them two roles under your normal job.

So, for example:

Your job title now
Description/bullet points

Senior role one (cover)
Short description
Senior role two (cover)
Short description

Or if you've written a paragraph under your job then you could just add another short paragraph about the other positions.

If you are trained in them and do them often there's no harm in adding them in adding them to the rest of your job history, just make sure to add that it is cover.

Still, if you want to go for a job that is similar to the cover role(s) then you have good experience in that role, you want to make that experience stand out. No need to hide it or play it down as just cover work. Having that experience is a positive. So write cover, but no need to go overboard making sure they know it was cover and not your actual role.
