What makes you happy in your job?

I saw the post about what you don't like in your job and I wondered if anyone had one word that they would say is what makes them happy at work.

I actually saw this article too (http://worklab.breathehr.com/what-makes-employees-happy-and-what-are-companies-doing-about-it) which is doing a survey on that exact thing.

I don't know about you but it's got to be the people that make my day at work good, that or my lunch break! :rotfl:

What makes me happy in my job? Chiefly the lady I work with.

We've been together 10 years and have yet to fall out. We've never uttered a cross word.

And I'm also happy when I can help someone and they walk out of the shop door satisfied.

    Friday knocking off time!
  • Work that is not based on making money for a bunch of suits. Having my workload and being left to do what needs to be done without having anyone over my shoulder checking up on me. Friday at 4pm.

For me, it's the fact that the second day of work each week is the last. Working two days a week, 15 hours is fantastic.
  • Somebody being very pleased that they have passed their qualification after failing and feeling a failure, at school. Closely followed by 5pm in the happiness stakes.

The people I work with (and I'm not ashamed to say it out loud) :) They are an absolutely fantastic bunch of people, different personalities but we all get on brilliantly. I can trust them to do their job and do it well; I treat them like adults and they give me their best in return. My boss gives me respect, and I give my best in return.

  • Getting my confidence back, it is a really hard to describe feeling you know when you feel totally comfortable 'safer' almost somewhere.

As I'm bit of a environment snob, but it really sets the tone somewhere clean, bright and up to date.

Access to make a drink during the working day.
  • Couldnt imagine a place where you cant make drinks, eat biscuits and chocolates or eat food when you want.

I used to eat eggs and bacon at 10 (while working ofc)
