Hi Jessica
Sorry if I have missed this somewhere in your posts above, but what exactly are the HP payments going towards? I'm guessing it might be the car but it's not 100% clear to me. I note that you are down to the last few payments on this, so that might be money that can be reallocated within the next few months?
Either way I would encourage you to contact one of the free advice charities, as yours is not necessarily a straightforward situation, what with some of the debts being almost statute barred and others being paid up to date at present.

Are the old debts registered to your current address ? I am thinking that if they do try to push for payment before the debts become statute barred then court papers would presumably be sent to the last address they have for you. If that is not where you live now then the first you might know about it is when a ccj appears on your credit file and it is too late to do anything about it. If they don't have your current address and you really want to avoid the possibility of a ccj messing up your credit file for another 6 years then i think you would need to contact them with your new address which means acknowledging the debt and forgetting about waiting for them to become statute barred. It sounds to me like being able to get a mortgage in the future will be very important to you so paying them would be the safest option in my opinion. As they are quite old you could try making them an offer as a full and final payment. Could you possibly get the money together to do that ?0
