Nice to be able to define your axes and scale in order to make a political point completely subliminally....

Actually I am amazed that I came close to the Hollande, I would have expected to be much nearer to Cameron or Blair.

It's amazing how many of the extremists here don't show their cards, why? I've only seen a handful of people to ever get into the upper right hand quadrant. From the way you go on you should make it easily.

    Extremists?

I think that the only people that you should define as extremists are those in the extremities (the outer 2 rows or columns) of any of the quadrants. Pretty much everyone else has a fairly centrist political outlook with varying nuances.

    Economic Left/Right: -1.88
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.67

    There you go.

Difference of opinion doesn't make one extreme. We are all shaped by our own experiences through out our lives along with the nature of our work. The broader ones experiences the broader the view. Many people are totally inflexible to change yet the world is a constantly changing place.

As I say, depends where you draw your axes. In this country most would consider Ed Milliband to be left of centre and moderately authoritarian. If you set your axes with miliband half way to the left and Cameron half way to the right and both half way up the authoritarianism landscape you probably have a better picture of where most British people would see left/right and authoritarian/liberal balance lying.
