Statute barred debt & applying for a mortgage

Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me in relation to statue barred debt and how this impacts on me.
I have checked my credit file with Experian and the 2 creditors which I believe debt is statute barred do not appear on my credit file. Could these have been removed as the debt is over 5 years old?
If I was applying for a mortgage, and a search of my history is done, could these debt's be picked up? If so, can they be taken into account as part of my application for a mortgage?
Any advice would be a massive help!

If they are not on your credit report and you're not making payments and haven't done so for many years then you don't need to declare the debts.
If you are making payments you need to declare the payment you are making as an expense and the debts won't be statute barred.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi,
You need to check your file with all 3 credit reference agencies, as they may report to one, or more, of the other two.
Creditors can report to one, two, or all three CRA`s, so you need to make sure the debts do not appear on any of your files.
If you are in England or wales, the debts would only be statute barred, if you had not paid, or acknowledged them in writing, for any period of 6 years or more, (5 in Scotland).
On what basis do you believe they are statute barred ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
