    What annoyed me when they originally introduced Student loans and changed the HE model, is that they used the earning differential between a graduate / non-graduate to justify the cost of the loan.

    Did they think we could conveniently ignore the supply and demand factor undermining this justification ?

    Tell me. What part of a degree or post-grad qualification does a Nanny bring to the working role? ...because that's what 2 courses which were being promoted by the LSC were indicating.

    As the logic goes

    Graduates on average have higher paid jobs so if more people go to university more people will get well paid jobs. What could possibly go wrong?

    I remember when I went on business to the USA, pretty much everybody had two or three degrees, couple of masters at least. All to land the amazing job of Data Entry :rotfl:

    I think that educations like in most EU countries is structured better with more specialised high schools, preparing students to work-life.

    The US system has little to offer us as an example. There are many other systems available. There was no transparency or answerability to the electorate when this country decided to adopt that system.

    Heaven forbid we'd learn from our European neighbours. :eek:
