Polish Cucumber Soup

Over the summer I spent some time with friends in Poland. One of the nicest parts of staying with a family is experiencing the country from the inside. I love it there. Now although I speak NO Polish at all, my friends speak some English and we manage fine with communication in general.
However, some of the specifics are more difficult. We used to have the most delicious soup for dinner that they called "cucumber soup" although my guess is that they were Dill 'cucumber' of the type they leave in McD burgers for children to take out and hand to parents.
Does anyone know if they can be grown here, if seeds are available, if a recipe for this soup is available, etc etc. Or if I can buy them here?
I'd love to have a go and make some.

My friend seems to think it is called zupa ogorkowa so maybe try googling that and see if it brings up anything0

Found this in Wiki http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Transwiki:Zupa_ogorkowa
There are loads of Polish grocery stores in the North of England but not so sure of down your way, they would be your best bet for the salted cucumbers0 -
