advice re PPI please

Hi All,

I have read the advice re BR and PPI and I have a question which doesnt fall into the brackets quite as simply...

My aunt claimed for PPI against Lloyds in 2012 and was made a payment as settlement. She went BR in 2013 and has since been discharged.

She received a letter this week and a cheque the next day with a statement that they had mis-calculated her PPI claim and that she was owed this extra amount.

I know that on one hand, the rules of BR state that a PPI claim belongs to the OR, but in this case, the PPI claim predates the BR and this is just a 'top up' of what she was entitled to in 2012 when she claimed.

She says she could really do with the money right now as she is having car troubles, but she's worried the OR will just take it all...

Any advice?

Thanks, x
