Solar Panel quote help?

Hello,
I've received a quote for a 4kw solar panel system at £6154.
This is using 14 JA Solar 285W Percium Black frame panels. The inverter is Solis and using a clenergy mounting system.
I have an estimated total output of 2803 kwh but this is split using both my front and back roof.
Would you say this quote is expensive?
I'd really appreciate your advice.

Hi Ali68,
Yes I would say that this quote was too expensive - have they quoted for only 14 panels because you are limited for roof space?
I would suggest that you should be looking at £5k - £5.5k for a standard 4kw system install.
Hope this helps.0 -
I have a three storey mid terraced house. But I'm not sure why he used 14 panels for the quote instead of 16 x250watts.0

Scaffolding for both front & back on a three storey house is going to be quite a bit more expensive than a standard install - price still seems a little steep, but probably not excessively so ....
Just food for thought ....... Regarding the 14 panels - is the proposal for an even split (front/back) with a single row of 7 panels, or is it something like an 8:6 split ? ... you just need to consider that an even split on 14 could effect the aesthetics more than 16 (if not single row) - also look at your usage pattern ... on an uneven split most would use more energy in the afternoon than morning so would have a preference for more capacity with the west(erly) facing panels, although a lot depends on the capability of the MPPT inverter.

It's with 8 panels on the front and 6 on the rear roof.0
