Hello all
I found this place after recieving an envelope in the post on Friday last week telling me to contact this company with regards to a personal matter .
Turns out they are chasing me over an outstanding BarclayCard arrears of £450 dating back to 1995!! So I find a very useful letter posted on this forum about the 1980 limitations act and the Statute Barred rule, and posted it off to them on Friday
Unfortunately I used my work phone to call them so they are now bombarding my work phone with spammy voice text messages telling me to call them to settle the debt.
I've just got off the phone to them again, stating quite clearly the Statute Barred law and the Limitations act , and the woman on the phone had the sheer brass to tell me that this didn't apply to the debt :rotfl:
I appreciate they are entitled to pursue this, but surely this is attempting to obtain money by deception ?
cheers

Not only are these criminals giving you misleading information about your 'alleged debt', but they are also acting in contravention of the OFT guidelines for debt collection in telephonoing you at work, if you have asked them not too:

Don't mess around - report them to Trading Standards.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
