Well they have been busy in M today. (At least in my first store - the second didn't show all of the items in an offer:rotfl:, but then I doubt whether all my stores combined are showing them all, and my first store gave me no clue about some offers that turned out to be showing in the second store:rotfl:.) There has been a lot of change today in M - largely thanks to a new offer - 4 for £3 - on all health & beauty items that are individually £1, including some deodorants, body washes, shower gels, handwashes, shaving items, toothpaste, branded and own brand items, so many that it's nigh-on impossible for me to list every possible combination. I have no idea how the price collectors will pick up all of them in the offer - indeed some items aren't showing the 4 for £3 labelling that is on them in other stores - I would not at all be surprised if the mbuys for M were a no-show on the APG:(. Some items may work, some may not - but it's a matter I think of seeing if someone happens to buy a combination on wombles. However:

There are so many items in this new M mbuy offer that I think it may well cause confusion and therefore we may see glitches whereby some random expensive items get put into a 4 for £3, individual 75p, and therefore work out much cheaper than they should be!:D:j Therefore, it is a case of looking at wombles very carefully as this may well be a glitchable event!

I don't know if the price collectors are the same ones as they have been before, I don't know whether the 'new' APG works the same way or how they collect the prices or whether any of the above will happen. However, there is so much change in M today that I feel the price collectors are bound to mess up, and including some items well in our favour (if only they buy the 'right' combination on wombles. So, eyes down for wombles...!). Unfortunately it may be that, even if we find glitches, probably from tomorrow morning, that they may only last a couple of days. However, this offer in M is supposed to be on for a while longer so it may well mean items get glitches later on. Unfortunately, however, whilst they might 'mess up', this also means they might do so by missing items off or not including them in the mbuy - so, as regards buying h&b items and trying to compare against individual 75ps for four mix and match, I think that's very risky.

I don't know yet whether other comps. might be better anyway - somewhere else might be 75p straight on some of these items - I've yet to find out - and, anyway, 75p might not be that good on our prices. Normally I would be less inclined to go for 4 for £3 as, of course, it's trying to get us to buy more. I'd be inclined just to pick up four items you need, from the huge choice, and mix and match in M and buy at straight 4 for £3 rather than mess with a APG comp. that I reckon likely won't work. The M offer includes the Blister Plasters that went up to £1.15 individual last week - however the 4 for £3 wasn't showing in one of my stores (see what I mean about it being risky?). But, obviously, it now means comp. vs T at straight £1 (assuming that's the same as last time I checked) isn't as nominally good as the M 4 for £3 pricing. Some items suddenly become 'better', like the Talc that got removed ages ago as it briefly went better in Boots than M's straight £1 and has been off the list ever since. I will put whatever I find available in A onto Avs M - in bold - but it's a case, eventually when I have completed it (take me ages:laugh:) of looking down the whole list, of three posts, and seeing what's showing 4 for £3 in M and, probably, buying them in M (even though I automatically put all items available in A onto Avs M, then, if not available in A, they go automatically to Tvs M, unless not available in T either, in which case they are 'buy in M').

So, it's been quite a change in M today. And yet, somehow, I went an hour later to the store but ended up finishing at the same time? I think it's "tasks expand to fill the time available" and, subconsciously, if you have less time, you do things quicker and you don't realise it (that's what "subconscious" implies;):D). In fact, overall, it's probably about the same amount of change as an 'average' Monday of change but it is skewed by the "health & beauty" items. Poor us for getting Interdental brushes at £1 a pack for the last four years:( (suddenly 4 for £3 makes a 'stock-up' better, as long as stocking up in the right way etc.).

It'll take 'forever' for me to update the list:rotfl: but, I hope, there will be very little to change this coming Wednesday. Needless to say (and therefore it wasn't:laugh:), the current M list is now quite out-of-date.

Oh, and just a final mention, that I've been having trouble finding the M own brand Choc Cake Bars for a number of weeks now. I have one errant SEL - and no stock - in one of my stores but no SELs or product anywhere else in any other store I've seen, so I've concluded they aren't stocked anymore. Problem with Savers Carrot tins only today - namely none of the stores I've visited can seemingly be bothered to show a price label, and one store turns out not to stock Savers Carrots at all. But, then again, why would you given that 1Kg 'fresh' carrots at 45p actually work out cheaper?

Other anomalies between stores to iron out, some of which will cause me to take items off the list and others to make a judgement call to retain. Given that some of the offers today are brand-new, it may take some time before the price comparison schemes catch them as each M store I've seen today has not yet managed to show all the offers that are on. You wouldn't know, from using a single M, exactly the full of what is now on offer in my view. Meanwhile, I have decided to take the individual own brand 'fresh' pies off the list retrospectively (because I can). The mbuy had disappeared a couple of weeks ago from my first store (the same one I usually start at). However it's been showing in the second store throughout. I've been using my second store as a "confirmation" store and been concluding that the offer was still on and had simply dropped off the shelf in the first - however I have had a "variety" of other stores today that have led me to conclude that the mbuy is not on. I have only that second store showing it, and it's now 3-1 - 3 no shows, 1 show. I've decided my second store is unreliable and can't be used to provide any 'confirmation' of anything at all:rotfl:! I've also decided, on the same basis, that the 'fresh' kippers are no longer on mbuy, so they're off now too, as I have 3-1 showing no mbuy - only one store showing it and it's out of stock of the product. Then I have the Cling Film mbuy:( - as neither my first nor normal second store shows it and usually I stop there. I 'know' it's still on though from msm. Today, as I expected, I have 2-2 on that, so it does look on. I can't rely on the price of eggs in the first store as it keeps showing 79p, but the three others all have 82p:rotfl:. Believe it or not, I was still picking up new offers in a fourth store tonight just now that I had not seen in any of the other three (most likely because they aren't showing them in those stores yet - it's unlikely that they were there and that I hadn't seen them). I believe I have now captured almost everything:rotfl:.

Righto - I'll probably be completely silent in terms of new posts for a while now, as will be dealing with the list (but not until after I've taken a break and may be some while yet before I start). Bye for now:wave:.

Can't comment on Downtown, I just can't get into costume dramas :o

Glad you've had a good weekend and well done to DD :T:T

Can you send a hug to N next time you see/speak. I've not seen her posts for a while.....but I have gaps so we may have sailed past each other in the gaps.

Did you get cat food? I realised this morning during my walk on the beach I may have sounded a little harsh with my comment about thanking the OP :o I didn't mean to and was definitely not aimed at you  I just speak as I find, as you know :p

I didn't take it like that but if you had linked in the initial post I would have gone back and thanked properly:p

Hope your day wasn't to scary. Not seen N since holiday but frequently phone her. Hope to see her later this week so will give her a squeeze from you:)

No cat food here:( bit upset as DD could really do with it. couple of other A s within a reasonable distance so will make some calls. as you know up o my neck in it today will pm you the resulting email tomorrow.

    aahhh, ok then.

QC it is then. A fiver a day per account (they don't have the household disclaimer) is not to be sneezed at

I've found my list of bespoke accounts from a while back from the £10 Amazon vouchers.....I think it was. Always pays to keep these things ;) and as we are a large household we have several Quidc accounts :)

Note.....they won't take URLs from Argos or AO online.

Do we need to go through QC 5 separate times per account or can we just click through once and then do 5 "Beat my Price" requests?

I was wondering that too, so I clicked through 5 times.
Thought it was safer that way!

Thanks for the heads up FC :T

  • Don't know if it'll make any difference or not, but make sure the items you are looking for them to beat the price on is in stock, I just had an email through saying they can't match OOS items. Didn't even notice!
