It consists of honey, cereal and yoghurt:T

Glad you made it in time. Would have been a shame to lose them at the last minute like a few of us have found out the hard way.

Sorry but the apples and oranges are both the same.

The members of my family both did their time as juniors, which is a stepping stone to large money.

I have a friend who is a neurologist, he came to the UK from South Africa because of the lifestyle that he could afford to have for his family. 6 kids in private school, wife at home, cleaner/gardner (which they pay a pittance for) very large house in lovely area and lovely lifestyle. The bonus structure that is in place for him is offensive to the average person as it goes on previous years performance, it reminds me of the bankers bonuses (before the government gave them a blank cheque from the UK tax payers and they became abusive).

The average person is fighting to pay their bills and to keep their small hardly adequate house.

Thanks for your input. I really wanted Karlie to answer my question on salary as opposed to take home pay. Cannot understand why she wouldn't be upfront about it when she bought it up. We all have stoppages. Didn't ask for any other reason than for a balanced viewpoint.

My DS used to say that he only earned xyz and I would say that, no you don't, you earn xyz+. He would reply that the government take the + from him. Had to say to him 'welcome to the real world, we all pay taxes etc'.

A lot of people work 'overtime' without any extra pay.

Please do not get me wrong, I think that the NHS staff do a brilliant job. Over the last year, I have seen that at first hand. I think that all jobs are equally worthwhile. For example - Without the cleaners at the hospital, patients are at risk.

    No offence meant to anyone.

Glad to have helped. Not often I have managed to give back to the thread as I am usually too far behind to make a difference.
