Is a £30 weekly shop possible at Aldi/Lidl?

For those of you who shop at Aldi/Lidl would you think I could get a weekly shop at either for around £30-£35?
This would be for one adult, one child and a cat (cat food and litter). I am trying to follow Slimming World so eating more fresh fruit and veg. We do not eat a lot of meat and mainly chicken when we do. My daughter loves spaghetti - spag bol/spaghetti on toast, meatballs with spaghetti We snack a lot on fruit, my daughter loves dairylea dunkers and yoghurt.
I am quite happy to try own brand foods as long as they taste ok.
Just wondered if it could be done? I currently shop at Asda and Sainsbury's but I do not do big shops just weekly shops.
Thanks for any help!

I'm sure you could but I've no idea how much it costs to feed a cat. I feed two adults doing almost all my shopping in Aldi and if it comes to more than £30 that's because I've bought something extra (like moisturiser or a big bottle of wine:D). If you have time, it's still worth going to places like £ shops of Home Bargains and buying bits that can be even better value than Aldi.
I'd suggest you go and give it a try.
BTW, I do Slimming World and there's an excellent thread on here, you'd be welcome to join in:).0 -

why restrict yourself to Aldi/Lidl? I could easily do this in ANY supermarket0 -
I think as said before you could do a shop in Aldi for £30-35.
Every week they have super 6 fruit and veg, this normally is about 59p.
They also do specials on their meat produce, which is great if you get a whole chicken cheaper you could make it last a few days as there is only 2 people that need feeding (+ cat which could have a bit of chicken if need be). Maybe chicken salad, chicken curry, or chicken stew.
As for the cat you could go to a Wilko shop and get stores own cat litter , and if you have a local Homebase for the cat food sachets.
Just a few things possible, that do not cost very much. Hope this helps.0 -

Haha yes I had heard that their wine was lovely which is one of the reasons I want to try them out! I will try Home Bargains there is one near me.
Which thread is the SW one? Do you have a link? I have just started it and trying to get my head around I would love any advice/meal ideas, thanks.0 -

Thank you that's very help. I think I will just do a normal shop at Aldi but try their own brands and just see what I like. I would be great if my weekly shop could be £30 there. Thanks also for the meal ideas I think that is where I slip up - I need to meal plan and do a shopping list and stick to it.
I was not aware Homebase did cat food I will have a look in mine. I think I am going to buy that in bulk to save a few pennies.0 -

My point is I could easily do a weekly shop in Sainsburys for under £35.
For example a £5 chicken can form the basis of at least 3 days of main meals for an adult & child0 -

You could do a weekly shop in Waitrose for £30.
In what sense is a weekly shop not a 'big' shop?
If you like shopping once a week there is a very simple way to find out.0
