Why's this a DM thread? In fact why does every new poster without expertise knowledge of cars seem to be accused of being a troll!

Why doesnt MSE do what other forums do and prevent newbies from starting new threads until they have made a certain number of posts on the forum?

    Pointless.
    This isnt an enthusiast/interest forum.
Most noobs come looking for help/info.
Not to post hi threads etc

the other week when the dover Calais ferries weren't running i managed to get my old mondeo back by driving it very fast into the water at Calais and keeping my boot on the accelerator pedal ,we made it back to blighty but it was a struggle driving up those bothersome white cliffs anyway i got the old girl booked into my local mechanic and after a looksie he reckoned i had a bit of water in the carb but a good old italian tune soon sorted that so next week were off to the moon
  • Reminds me of that joke... Wife calls husband to tell him she's flooded the engine in her car. Husband replies that she wouldn't recognise a flooded engine if it bit her on the bum. She insists it's flooded. He insists she doesn't know the first thing about engines and asks her where she's left the car. She replies... "It's in the swimming pool".

    (Sorry!)
