Yawn.... this forum needs a newbie filter with a nice OFF toggle, or some other kind of DM filter.

New car time, you can get a bit for scrap.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Bit of WD40 should sort it out.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

The car sucked in water which doesn't compress and the engine has therefore snapped a con-rod putting it through the side of the block, hence you're oil leak. The engine has had it I'm afraid. If you are extremely lucky, the insurance might pay out as a 'flood' damage incident but don't know if that covers the owner driving through a flood or only where a flood engulfs a parked car or even if flood is covered at all.

Insurance doesn't normally cover damage caused by stupidity.
  • this time the front wheels weren't spinning and were just dragging and smoking along the road, not sure why but it only did it when in gear the wheels turned fine when out of gear so i think the breaks were jammed on or something.

Sounds like they only fitted 'breaks' to the front of the vehicle, to reduce maintenance.

Must have been quite a sight, a previously submerged Yaris being dragged along with the back of the car fishtailing all over the road as the locked FRONT tyres reached a sufficient speed to start smoking.
Probably really dulls the handling when you do that.

If that won't hold everything back together they could try super glue.

Sounds like a Pugeot Diesel to me, they all do that if they go through a puddle, but usually they keep running on 3 cylinders, as long as you can afford to keep putting oil in to replace what comes out it should be ok.

Try pushing it backwards in gear to see if you can dislodge some of the water back the way it came in.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
