  • I wonder how many pairs people do have. I have in my house:

4 pairs of UGG Australia Boots
2 pairs New Zealand Sheepskins Boots
1 Pair John Lewis sheepskin slippers (need the bin though)
1 pair Costco Kirland shearling slippers

    Total = 8 Pairs

    Lol
    :T
    I have
4 pairs of UGG australia (grey and choc short classic, black argyle, chesnut ultra's)
3 pairs of emu (short stinger black and sand and tall stingers in choc)
I started with th emu's which are fine, but the uggs are far superior imho, I wear th emus around the house now.
i have my eye now on cement brown suburbs or mayfairs.... but i really shouldn't;)
    No toiletries spend in 2011.
    So far spends....£0!
  • Sorry to be so ignorant of these things (typical bloke,eh?) but what are Emus like compared to Uggs? Really want to get some Uggs for my (very pregnant) wife but the price scares me! Are Emus a decent substitute or do I need to get the real deal (and presumably get a second job to pay for them...)?

    Any thoughts welcome.
  • They're out of stock, i've been checking all week as I want to order some too:(

thankyou! let me know if they come back in stock at all? :p

i'd also settle for an asos discount code so i could get them from there, but there isn't a decent code atm (no 10/20% codes :()
    Comping since August 2022
    - bottle of 7up, brewdog glass

personally, without a doubt I would spend the extra and get UGGS. I have 4 pairs of uggs and 2 emu's - the emu's have never been worn out of the house as the quality of the UGGS is far superior in my opinion. I would say go the extra few quid and get a pair that will last her and that wont hang over at the back ( my husband has a pair of emus as slippers and the quality is atrocious compared to my uggs - he only wears them indoors and they are hanging over at the back and the imprint on the sole is worn after 7 months!)

Not tried them myself, but have heard good stories- though I think from what I remember the design of them is what makes the difference-Some people have reported they are wider (so can make your feet look bigger/not as feminine). Emu's come in different styles (they each have names) and from what I understand, some are softer then others, some are firmer/do not flop to one side and some do, some are made for indoors and some can be worn outside.... think though that ppl seem to prefer Uggs but that could be a label thing, can't comment on the comfort, the quality or any features as I don't own any Emu's.
  • Patiently waited in today for my Javari Order - Emu Shorts - Black .... to lose patience and phone helpline - Had been tracking them and arrived in my home city 1st think, checked as soon as I got up - "result"! or so I thought - still no sign of them - so phoned - to be told that at 7.30am the bloke frm Delivery co couldnt wait for them so I now wouldnt be able to get them till Monday!!! - Grrrr! - Tried to call the firm but they are closed at 12pm Saturdays - that'll be why they didnt wait for them then eh? - but it the tracking page had been updated I couldve gone and collected them myself instead of waiting in... Moan over...

Not as funny as the fact that most of the catwalk shows on wherever fashion week and the following shop items afterwards are also made in China! It used to be mainly in India that things were made but over the last 10 years as prices have changed, Hong Kong and other similar areas have become more popular. On the plus side, they've had loads or practice and the stuff they make is more likely to be well made. Just need to make sure the fabrics and raw materials are quality and you should be fairly safe!

I'm not disputing the quality at all, just the price makes me laugh.

    I have:

    UGG short classic Gold
    UGG tall classic chocolate
    UGG tall classic black
    UGG tall classic grey
    UGG tall classic bronze

I had short classic chestnut Uggs but had to bin them when I fell into the sea wearing them and nothing would revive them after.
