Thanks Stevie for the response. I was planning on lowering the opening offer below the £2500 to start with to give me some "wiggle room". I was worried it would sound cheeky though
Is there anywhere on this site that has draft letters? I want to make sure the wording I use is clear and I don't accidentally set myself up for further letters for outstanding amounts....
That would just be my luck!0 -

Lyndsey,
It really only needs as follows :-
Dear Creditor ( Bank, CC or which ever debt you are writing to )
Account Number: 000000000 Date: 09/09/2015
In relation to the above listed account I would like to make a full and final settlement offer for £1000.00 regarding said account and would ask that you consider this for me.
I would also require that my credit file will show that the debt is settled here and ask for this to all be verified in writing prior to a payment being made.
Yours,
Lindsey,
Be prepared for them to haggle but I suggest you go in very low ie £2500.00 debt at £1000.00 and negotiate hard with them.
There may be a link on this site with a better worded letter than mine but this will get the jist across.0 -
Hi Stevie,
I found a template online and have drafted up all of the letters that I need to send.
Will post them all tomorrow and hope for the best. I have a few weeks before ythey would be expecting my next "monthly" payment anyways so hoping by then I have this all sorted so that they don't have to start adding "late payment" notices on my credit file.
Only one I am dubious about is Barclaycard - I've heard they are not great at accepting F&F offerings but here's hoping!
Fingers crossed0
