Cash Genie redress

If anyone had issues with Cash Genie like I described in a previous thread - aggressive phone calls to work, bleeding bank account dry etc. - they ARE paying redress! Mine went into the bank on Friday.
Definitely worth a prod if you've ever had a loan with them!

Hi
When did you have an account with them? I am wondering about this because i had an account years ago but not heard anything yet and judging by posts on here people who had a loan before 2013 are not entitled to anything
Also how much did you receive if you dont mind me asking? Did you receive an email before stating it was being refunded?0 -
Hello!
It was 2011, I believe. Amount was mid-three figure sum, and yes I got an email - however it was saying the cheque had not been cashed that they had sent so I replied to get it cancelled and BACS transfer done

Hey heartbreak glad to see a forum post on cash genie as couldnt find anything on it regarding others in the same position. I received an email friday saying i was entitled to a redress for 'unfair and unauthorized charges' i rang them this morning to update bank details and asked when i would receive payment to which she stated at least 4 weeks which seems a bit long.
So just curious how long from your email to when you received payment ?
Thankyou0 -
Hello
Just to let you know that i had an account with them in 2010, i contacted them with my points and asking if i was due a redress, i emailed them the Wednesday, received a reply Thursday saying they were investigating, i then received an email on Friday afternoon to say that i wasnt eligible for there redress programme as it was for accounts between 2013-2014 however they have looked at my points and as a gesture will refund £126, as this account was years ago i thought it was money lost so would accept and an less than an hour later the money was in my account!
Good luck to anyone waiting0 -
Hi
I believe I had an account with them over that period around 2013.
Can you pls point me in the right direction to contact them.
I have moved houses several times since then, so doubt they have correct contact details for me.

I have also received an email regarding a redress. I had my account at least 5 years ago 2009,10 if i remember , the amount i owe is alot less than the redress i am to receive.
Im due a 3 figure amount after they take the current amount i owed them back.
Would be very intrested myself to know when i shall receive payment (bank) as i got the email a week ago but havent heard anything since.0 -
Hi I received the money in the account about an hour if that after receiving the email, although i did send a complain and wasnt due for the redress but as a gesture i got £1230

Recieved 2 letters from Cash Genie to an old address stating i was due redress, i called them to update my new address and they are sending out 2 cheques, one for £220 and one for £530, Very pleased with that, I can only remember borrowing £150 :-)0

Hi
I never received a redress as my loan was taken out in approx 2010, however i decided to write to them and was given £126 back in charges, i also then contacted them again as i found further charges were added and was given a further £45 back, that was great and i put it to bed
Two days ago i recieved an email from them and also a letter the same day stating that i was owed money and my account had a credit balance and that i had overpaid, i was a little confused as i had got a refund from them for the interest but now it seems i have overpaid, they have gone into liquidation which the email and letter explains
I have tried to contact them by phone but the phone lines are constantly engaged or hold music is playing, i have sent an email 2 days ago and no reply, was just wondering if anyone else has received any communication from them after already receiving a redress?
Thanks0 -
Update: I have just this minute come of the phone to them as they phoned me back and was told that i have overpaid, they dont know how much as it is a different department apparently and said in the next 3 months i will receive a letter, anyone else who has had a refund from them then you never know you like me might receive another letter, i cant understand how i overpaid and why no one ever told me but hey they were the sort of company who would take the money but not give back,0
