Hi guys
I went on the rowing machine at the gym a few weeks back and sometimes I get blisters on my hand, this time I got 2 black type blister warts, these are still here now, it looks like blood underneath my skin but look a bit horrid as its on the had I use to receive money from the shop etc lol, is there anything I can do to get rid of this? I am forever using hand sanitizer as I work in a office as well as hand cream a few times a day.
thanks

Sounds like what my mum used to call blood blisters.
Grab a pair of gloves for use with the rower

I always wear gloves at the gym and wash regularly. Always use alcohol gel afterwards.0

It is always possible to have picked up warts this way in a gym because they can spread though bodily fluids (eg sweat) and if gym machines are not kept clean or even other surfaces (such as hand rails or surfaces in the changing room and so on- even locker doors) have residue this can spread infection. Things like ringworm and multiple skin infections are rife IME in gyms and I've learnt this through the latter the hard way. I'm not saying you do/don't have warts, I am saying there is a risk.
The only way you'd find out is via a diagnosis from a medical professional diagnosis.
What you can do once you have a diagnosis (so know what the actual problem is) is to them treat it. Your GP will be able to suggest things but in many cases warts tend to have a life-span all of their own and will come or go when they choose. I have had warts in the past years back when cryotherapy was the only option suggested to me and despite weekly treatments of this the warts didn't go until 3 months which was what was said to me was their shortest average life-span had I left them alone. There are other non-medical treatments you can try within the alternative therapy bracket but do your research first to save yourself wasting your own time, money and energy. One thing I will add though is that keeping your immune system at a healthy level is the best thing you can do for yourself, that way your body can fight the virus if it is the wart virus you have.
If they are blisters, keeping the area covered, sterile and reducing any friction to the area as much as possible is your best way through a blister, it will mean keeping the area covered until it has healed over, then making sure once you uncover the healed area, that you keep a careful check on it to make sure it doesn't break or split again or worse; catch an infection within the wound.
First port of call would be to go to a pharmacist for any advice they can give, then your GP if you need to know what the problem is and would like further medical treatment.0 -
I agree with heartbreak_star - it sounds like blood blisters. When I've had a blood blister, after a few weeks the thin layer of skin covering the dried blood breaks and the dried blood gradually flakes away and it all heals gradually.0

don't suppose it could be calluses? I get these all the time from using the rower...0
