I am obviously going to have to find the £525 to pay the OR for when I go BR, I see the likes of SSAFA helps but don't want to use them to be honest but my question is I have an item that worth around £300 which I know I could sell and this would really help towards the fees but I'm afraid the OR or the creditors might think why didn't you pay them their minimum payments with the money rather then the fees.
Thanks
Thanks

Don't worry about the creditors, they don't get any say in what happens it's just the OR who calls the shots when you go bankrupt. Also do not worry about the minimum payments, when I made the decision to go bankrupt I didn't make any payments to creditors at all (not even £1 token payments) and it wasn't a problem

£300 isn't an awful lot to be honest, if you are selling it for it's true value and not trying to dispose of goods on the cheap I'd be surprised if the OR had a problem with you using the money to fund your bankruptcy. Just keep the receipt if worried and explain to the examiner what you did with the item

Thanks so in all honesty is it just best to keep it and just wait that little bit longer to save for the fees.

If you can save the money by not paying your creditors, it's probably the best route to take
Doesn't matter if it takes you a few months, you've made the decision to go bankrupt so just continue planning for that and ignore letters and phone calls from your creditors

I sold loads of stuff on ebay to raise the money for my fees - its not a problem for an item of that value - sell it and put the money towards your BR costs. .0

Bit of an update sort of... My first of my minimum payments was due today of £231 of which I paid a £1. Really scary as it's the first ever minimum payment I've ever missed. Feeling nervous struggling to eat butterflies in the stomach and this is before I've even saved up for the court fees.0

Well done, you will have your fees soon and it will all be over, just keep going, keep asking questions, the advice from posters here is amazing, the TheGardener got me through a bad patch when my brain and stomach seemed to have turned to porridge and my nerves had a mind of their own. It will all pass

Cheers the £231 is just one. Next week £148 then end of that week another £222 then on the 20th £118 then end of the month another £140 something. That's not including my OD fees.
Going to try have a Snack to eat tonight as the wife noticed I didn't eat last night, just so looking forward to this being over. Thanks0
