Just seen on Facebook that Clenaghans Restaurant in Moira has closed.
http://www.clenaghans.com/
Very sudden, and when we've been down its always been busy. Loved the converted barn accommodation they offered too.
There has been a business / bar on that site for 250 years. Seems an awful shame.
Anyone know why or what happened?
EDIT: Found this from the Lurgan Mail, but their journalism abilities seem to have stretched no further than cutting and pasting from the website after an initial statement was made.

Was reading through a deal and seen this thread... I was in Clenaghans last night. Asked the lady behind the bar and apparently the owner (Ivan) is closing it up to get a break from it!0

Wow thats mad. You would imagine it could have been sold as a going concern.
Real shame. it was probably our favourite restaurant.0 -
You'll just have to go to The Square in Lisburn instead Paul!0

Down to the bottom of moira, take a left as if you are going to the train station. Take the first left, over the railway tracks, keep on going to you get to the T junction and Clenaghans is (was) straight ahead of you.
Did great accommodation too, combined with meal deals.

The Tannery, 6 Chestnut Hill Road, Moira BT67 0LW
On the road from the roundabout towards Antrim / Aldergrove take the first left before the BP (possibly towards the station?)
It's about half a mile or so up that road, on the right. Not bad. (Though I see their prices have risen a fair bit and the reviews are mixed)
(It was called something else, but I can't remember)

Used to be called the Chestnut Lodge, IIRC.0
