I guess anyone who has AdBlocker gets the 'Please unblock' message on Win Something.

As I tend to be a bit over analytical I wondered what reaction it produced in everyone else? Did anyone do as they asked and unblock the site?

I find the wording a bit odd, starting off with 'If you LOVE WinSomething please approve us...' well, no, I don't LOVE this commercial enterprise, although I appreciate ads will help finance the prizes. However, realistically the prizes are spread pretty thin and they are hoping to make a great deal more money out of you than they give back. As someone also commented recently, the site is actually more like WinNothing for most people...if I actually won something I might be more amenable.

And the larger picture is - are more and more sites going to want you to do this, given that I have encountered two that will not allow you to proceed at all with AdBlocker activated - which as far as I am concerned is their loss...

Apologies for the early morning ramblings - off to work now

It has been mentioned before on the freepostcodelottery that people deprive a site of revenue if they use AdBlocker although they have not blocked users yet.
It costs me nothing if ads are displayed and if that's what sites need to provide prizes and make a profit it doesn't bother me, I'd rather that than they sold my data.

If sites do block AdBlocker its a win win for people who don't use it -
People with AdBlocker stop using a site it increases the chance of a win for everyone else while not reducing site revenue.
People with AdBlocker stop using it, number of entries remains the same but site revenue increases which gives the potential for more to be spent on prizes and at the very least helps keep a site running.
the site is actually more like WinNothing for most people

Unless something is almost a freebie every large site is more like win nothing for most people although the click to wins probably have as many winners if not more than most (before I got bored with them in 6 months last year I had a dozen wins worth around £1400).

(Just had a look at their winners list and there were well over 500 prizes won this August from competitions featured on their sites and this time last year the prizes on offer in total were worth over £50,000)
