Lidl area codes

Here's a partial list, at time of writing. Could be useful for Lidl special offer threads, although you should probably check specific stores if you want to be certain. Feel free to add/amend areas. I guess they could change from time to time.

1 South London, Surrey, Basingstoke
2 North London, Reading, Andover, Chelmsford
3 Birmingham, some Leicester, Oxford, Aylesbury, Bedford, Thetford
4 Hereford, Gloucester, Worcester, Swindon
5 South/Mid-Wales
6 Bristol and the south-west
7 Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, North midlands including Lincoln, some Leicester, Nottingham, Shrewsbury
9 North Wales
10 Yorkshire, the north-east, Cumbria
11 Scotland
12 Norwich, Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Folkestone, Canterbury, Southend, Brighton, Crawley

Thanks for that, very useful.

Some of the areas seem strange. I would have thought that most of the towns/cities in a particular area would be relatively close to one another. For instance, Andover seems odd for area 2, and area 12 is a bit of a mix too I suppose it's where their distribution centres are?

Using the technique in that thread Ipswich and Stowmarket are in area 12 not 2.

Thanks for the correction. I have updated the OP accordingly. I actually compiled that list a few weeks ago, so either I made a mistake (possibly misread 12 for 2 in the URL) or it has changed. Very probably the former, because I was flagging a bit by that point! It did seem odd that those towns weren't in area 12.

Edit: I've just noticed that Leicester is split between 3 and 7. This could be trickier than I thought. Updated the list, anyway.

Chelmsford area code is weird.

It's geographically in the lower area of area 12, more nearer Southend than anywhere else.

Unless it's one of those weird placement areas due to distribution because it's on the A12 and near London.
