Solar Panel Help

Hello, I have been given a quote for solar panel installation from SolarPlus Yorkshire, but I don't know if this price is on the high side for the job, or if the equipment is any good.

I have looked at the forum but cannot find any reference to the panels I have been quoted on and hoped someone on here has some experience of these:

15 Jinko 265w solar edge smart panel crystalline pv modules (25 yr warranty) (Panels produced in China).

All connection and wiring and fixtures and fittings for such panels.

1 x 1 x solar edge 3.68kw inverter to incorporate 15 built in optimisers inverters and a generation meter.

All AC cabling from the origin to the inverter via AC isolator.

Without being too specific I live somewhere between York and Wetherby. Our roof is south facing but I will need the optimisers due to shading from our chimney and a neighbours tree (next door refuses to reduce the tree height).

Do you think the price is about right - Quote (supply and install) £6,950.00 incl VAT.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Not an expert yet, but I think the price is probably on the high side.

My system, (see my signature at bottom) cost me £5650 and my brother is getting a 14x285w panel system with Solaredge (not built-in) for £5550

Going by that, if you can get at least £1.3k off that then it will be nearer the mark.
Don't know anything about those panels, not experienced enough, but from what I understand the panels with built-in Solaredge optimisers should be a little cheaper than those with separate optimisers, but more (obviously) expensive than normal panels.

Try looking further afield for installer/suppliers, I was under the impression that local was within about 10 mile, but my installer came about 50 miles away and another four quotes came from well over that.
Is this your first quote? You should get at least 3.

    Edit.....
One of my quotes (a very good one) came from a company probably not far from you. They were a little bit sarcastic when I went with someone else, but other than that they gave me a good quote right of the bat without any haggling. Unfortunately they would not budge but it was very close to what I paid!
PM me if you want some details.
    Martin (With an I)

4.00 kWp System, 15° East of South, 35° Pitch, 16 (250w) x 8.33 Eternity Panels, Solaredge Optimisers and SE4000(16A) inverter, iBoost. Just North of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Hiya Polly. If it's helpful, then using PVGIS (walkthrough in section 5 of the PV FAQs) suggests you'll get about 3,720kWhs of generation per annum. That is before shading, but Solaredge is very good, so hopefully it'll be about that.

Price looks too high, I think Martin's your man for price advice and suggestions.

    Mart.
