that sounds like an interesting diet Dragon, i'd wondered if there was one based on the war a little while ago.

not too bad, constant cry of 'i'm freezing' whilst at home so you can tell it's winter again. Making a final decision again as to whether to go for new double glazing, will set back my dfd about 12 months but it may just be worth doing.

Hmm shame about the DFD but being warm is good! We are looking at putting a velvet curtain behind the front door as a warming technique!

Did you ever get the porch situation sorted out?

nope still have a falling down porch and upstairs still won't repair the guttering /roof so no changes there. We've always had a curtain at the front door and have 2 pairs of curtains up at the patio doors and they're still like a giant gaping hole in the wall, which is why we're thinking of putting new windows etc in, to help us to keep this place warm.

:mad::mad::mad::mad: to the people upstairs. We have secondary double glazing in the front window BUT you can feel the cold coming through the wooden front door, hence the need for the curtain! It is the only place that is really cold :o
