I am so 'touched' by this story, and SHOCKED (beware) by the image & plight, I actually thought I may try and do something positive, prod peoples conscience & try to at least help a little.

Whatever your views on this subject, the kids are innocent in all this and need our help. Please, do what you can.

We, as a country, need to do something and play a positive role.

Thank you.

A concerned human being.

  • I think this will be a 50-50 split with people for and against taking in anymore, I know I disagree with taking any of them at all and that is my view that I will stick with.
  • I appreciate your viewpoint & understand.

Did you see the image of a 3 year old boy drowned? As a parent, I felt compelled to try something.

The kids have done nothing to deserve to die. A few pounds could help them. That's all I'm advocating.

    Thanks for your reply.
  • I'm sorry, but this drowning is not the first and it wont be the last, it just happens to have been more publicised because the child washed up on the beach. This is the fault of the people traffickers and the parents that took the risk when they must know by now how many have lost their lives on the trip.

Giving more money will not help this sort of thing. The British government is correct in saying that something has to be done to stop the so-called ISIS and to stop the people traffickers. Did you know that the UK government has already given 900 million to help people escaping that war?

We do not have enough room for our own people, we have a housing crisis, there are veterans that have fought for the country out on the streets because they have nowhere to live. We have to put our own people first.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • Love has no boundaries. As someone has put that We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.
    Rest in peace little boy.
Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them. :p
  • This poor child is dead now. His father (and ISIS) were to blame. No-one else. We give more than any other country in aid. Could you perhaps give something to a British charity to help children - perhaps children like the ones in Rotherham? Or to a food bank. If we don't have sufficient for our own people, perhaps you could do something to help there?

"Children like the ones in Rotherham" needed help from official agencies - the police, social services, the NHS - not charity. Which just about sums up your post - ignorant.
