Unfortunately it sounds like you may have come here a bit too late, if it is not statute barred and they can produce the CCA they will go straight to court for the £2000 and unless you have £2k, you will get a CCJ.
Making a written offer to pay was not the smartest move, why would they take £200 when they can sue for £2k.I do Contracts, all day every day.0
