I think it's looking pretty good Gemmzie - how does she get her hair cut and dyed so cheaply if you don't mind me asking....does she go to a college? Even so, that's really cheap - brilliant!!!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

The only thing that springs out is the £250 for the joint account.. what is that for and is there any room for play in it? Any chance of her doing some overtime to increase her earnings?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

What does the OP eat? There is no mention of food or clothes for that matter.0

hi gemmzie
This may not be any help but if there is someone in the household in receipt of benefits you could get a new boiler free from the government scheme for heating/insulation.

Cut is done by our mobile hairdresser. she's great actually only charges £8 but mum pays £10 because she cuts it so well! She does my fringe for £1!
The dye she does herselfNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

That's the lowest we can get it, see: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=331943
For the joint situation
She's doing lots at the moment but I didn't include because it's not regular income. She does cleaning some Saturdays (£30), mystery shops and is considering taking on a retail job for the Christmas period. She only works part-time (3 long days) but there's no overtime with that job.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

We looked into this and the rules aren't someone in the household, it has to be the owners of the house unless someone is on IS/IB AND DLA
Thanks thoughNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Re: Boilers
I had a decent combi put in about 2 years ago and the cost of the boiler was £1K.
So if it is a straight swap over then you are looking at about £1.5Kish with fitting and not £3K and I would never get BG to do my boiler for me anyway.
I had a new boiler and new piping for 4 rads up stairs plus 3 more new rads where pipe work existed it cost me About £4K. I was told by the guy fitting it that BG would have charged me in the region of £8k to do the same work for me.
Could you mother not get a credit card with Interest free option on it. I have just got one to allow me to buy a new washing machine as my last one died. So it is now spread over 12 months with no interest.
All the best.
Yours
