Sounds like you should be grateful they gave you anything! Its a tough knock to take but if you enter incorrectly then you're not eligible to win. If they let you win, you take a prize away from a genuine winner.

Recently there was a comp on FB where they highlighted an incorrectly spelt hashtag to pick the winner. It meant that instead of picking from a pool of several hundred entrants, they picked from only two entries with the misspelled hashtag. Surely you can see that it was unfair. They also picked a new winner and the original choice got no prize at all.

At least Next gave you a goodwill gesture.

Remember in future to read properly how to enter. :)
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!
  • To be honest, I think its great that Next stuck to the T&CS and was nice of them to offer you anything. £100 is still a great prize. There are so many companies who do not stick to their own terms and conditions and it gets frustrating for people who have entered correctly.

I agree 100%! Drives me mad when companies don't stick to their T&C (I had cause to email one company recently who stipulated that you had to comment using a hashtag but then picked winners who hadn't used it) so I think with the Next comp a) someone who followed the T&Cs to the letter should have won, and b) you were very lucky that they honoured your win at all!
