recommendations for free at home workouts

Due to a few new and hopefully temporary financial constraints, I have cancelled my gym membership.

I used to do Les Mills body pump, body combat and body balance at the gym, and was making good progress, losing weight but gaining muscle, so this is a bit of a blow, but needs must.

Does anyone have ideas for free workouts I can do at home along similar lines. I think I have some dumbbells and some exercise bands somewhere in the garage but would prefer body weight workouts I can do with little or no equipment. I also have a mini trampoline/re-bounder type thing.

Thanks for your time.:)

Hi Shandy, if you have a smartphone, try 7 minute workout app. It is good.
Also I'd suggest videos from Sara Solomon. She has a Youtube channel and is really good :)

  • Try Fitness Blender, hundreds of free workouts and they are fab ones to boot. You can choose by type of workout, equipment you have, length of workout...etc. Fantastic husband and wife team, cannot recommend them enough.
  • Zuzka Light has a great range of free workouts, some bodyweight,'some with weights/sandbag. I love them!

Tony Horton (p90x) does some good free stuff on youtube.
I have also seen the new 30 minute insanity program on youtube, insanity max30. The whole 8 week workout program is easily found.
Also depending on your views on copyright infringement it is also very easy to acquire pretty much any workout program you want.
  • Solomon Yogalates - I get very ripped doing these DVD's alone, 3x per week (any more and I lose too much weight and burn out).

Bodyrock/Dailyhiit.... whatever the website is called now. Really good for HIIT training at home, good community support, helpful articles/blog, and the instructors are pretty inspiring to look at :)
