  • Just to repeat what the others have said.. it makes life so much easier.

Get that bank account sorted. I went with co-op cashminder and I think its great. Online and mobile banking that is real time accurate. What more could you ask for?

Have your day in court and prepare to be completely underwhelmed :)

    Good luck

Thanks Gardner, as for banks I'm already got a account plus with coop and Barclays and lloyds and tsb all contact less cards, so I guess these will be frozen but my question is my debts are with all these people so what's the best bank account post BR please. Shall I right now open a basic account up online if so what one thanks you
You need a co-op cashminder account or a Barclays 'basic' account - all other types of account including with co-op or Barclays will not just be frozen - they will be closed. If both these banks are creditors you need to arrange for any income to be paid into a friend or relatives account until after your BR date. Your options are:
a)Once you are BR, go to Barclays make an appointment and ask for a basic account - you wont get one online, even if they were a creditor it wont matter and they can't claw back any debt after your BR date.
    b) open a Barclays or co-op account now but don't pay any income into it until you are actually BR.
You do not have to speak to your creditors and you do not have to pay them anything if you are set on BR. The OR will have no opinion either way whether you pay debt instalments now or not. The priority is essential living costs and saving for the BR fees..
