It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.

What difference does it make if it's "exotic"?

I don't see people airing their views on here when it a pair of cattle hide leather shoes offered as a prize when, arguably, the process a cow goes through is considerably more painful.
  • Sorry to bump, and I dont want to agree/disagree with people as everyone has differing opinions on the matter, but I dont have a problem wearing leather shoes as I feel the leather is a by-product of the more humane meat industry. However with a lot of the other things like furs, shark skin, crocodile etc and some snakes which are not eaten, the animal is killed merely for its skin or fur and usually not in a humane way unlike the majority of the meat industry. I see graphic photos all the time on the internet and on facebook of animals still alive being skinned (or like the angora rabbits just kept alive to rip the fur off) and its for that reason I wont wear any exotic animal. I know that in a very small percentage some of the meat would be eaten and the animal humanely killed but sadly I think the majority of cases they would suffer so much pain.

Just to remind everybody that it is totally up to you if you enter a competition or not.

This part of the competition board is for posting competitions not to discuss the "ethics" of the prize.

If you want to to do that then CCC is the place to post.

There have been a number of threads in the past on this topic; usually about real fur coats.
