I'll get around to it, but TBH I dread the thought of having to compress files that size. The ultimate aim is to edit small pieces of each and stitch them into something meaningful and then compress, but I'm not sure I'll have the patience for that.
I might try one tonight to see how long it takes, just as a benchmark.0 -
Well the only way to reduce the file size is to reduce the quality. The size of the file is the number of pixels per frame x number of frames. So you either reduce the number of frames (lower framerate) or reduce the number of pixels (resolution).
They wont output compressed files, because that will require each frame to be encoded, which will reduce the fps of the game considerably
Its actually quicker to encode uncompressed files. To encode a file thats already compressed, you have to first decoded it, then reecode it.
For this reason its usually easier to work with the raw uncompressed files anyways.
at work we have much larger file sizes, even the smaller videos are 5400x2700, and one of our cameras records at 10k0 -
I should just end my stuff to you....you could do them in your lunchbreak
Ended up doing a 3hr tech support call for family last night so no chance to do anything else.0 -
