PPI reclaim from GMAC RFC

From 2004 to approx 2009 my mortgage was with GMAC RFC who I understand no longer trade in the UK.
Has anyone reclaimed from them who could give me a few tips on where to write to to begin the process, check I had PPI (which definitely wasn't mentioned and knowingly accepted by me) and then reclaim if applicable.

GMAC retailed via brokers IIRC. So, it wouldnt have been GMAC that sold you PPI. It would have been a broker.
You can ask the broker (but note that 2004 is before the January 2005 regulation and many brokers dont have to consider pre-regulation complaints).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
