Electric scooter key

Not sure if this the correct forum to post but thought it's worth a try. Anyway, bought the grandson an Electric self balancing scooter as a birthday gift. Kind of a Segway type of thing. It came with a remote key fob thing with an A,M and a lock symbol on it. Does anyone know what this remote key does or how it works? I've tried pointing it at the scooter and different things but it does not seem to do anything. The instructions are poorly translated into English and there is no mention of this key anywhere in them anyway. Anyone help?

Have you removed the small piece of plastic isolating the key fob battery?

There was no piece of plastic over the key fob. It just came in a box and when you pressed it the light came on but it didn't seem to do anything when directing it at the scooter. Have emailed the seller to see if they can shed any light on this.

Got a bit of a garbled reply by email from the seller. Basically I think they meant the key fob included did not work?? So why include it then. Well I've pointed this key at the scooter from every angle and it don't work so will just leave it for now
