H&M is launching its first nationwide Fashion Recycling Week from 31st August – 6th September. You receive one voucher of £5 for each bag of old clothing you hand in. You can get a maximum of two £5 vouchers a day. So hand in two bags of old clothing (doesn't have to be H&M) and you'll get £10 in total. The vouchers are redeemable when you spend over £25.

Hope this is the correct place to post.

Details are on above link.

Official MoneySavingExpert insert: H&M has confirmed that you can exchange a bag of old clothes for a £5 off £25 voucher to use in its stores by 31 Aug 2016. Thanks to asajj for sharing this offer.

I thought they did this all the time as I've done it already, though I think the vouchers were for a £30+ spend rather than £25, which sounds better to me as £30 can be a stretch sometimes. May be worth noting they don't accept shoes, only textile clothing. Thanks for the heads up asajj :)

Cazkins, I thought the same - I'm sure I saw this before :) Perhaps they just re-branded it as fashion recycling week :) Thanks for the info re:shoes and I agree, £25 is better :)

  • Does anyone know what size bags they except -are we talking bin bags?
  • damn, just chucked a bag of old clothes in a Traid bin the other day :/

what is the minimum size of bag? maybe I can scramble some more shirts together
  • I received an email from H&M about this and it said "receive two £5 vouchers for your next purchases when you bring unwanted clothes and home textiles into any H&M store this week" - it also says this on their homepage at the bottom left. I've been taking my unwanted textiles into H&M for a couple of years now to trade for vouchers, so I'd assumed that the deal this week is that you get two vouchers instead of the usual one voucher for each bag of textiles you bring in. Has anyone been in and received two vouchers for one bag?

A carrier bag full of clothes get you the voucher.

I took in a bag on Saturday so only got one voucher. :(

Certainly not bin bags. A standard bag as far as I'm aware is sufficient.

Charity shops always need them, why chuck in the bin anyway.

    Do I get a reward?
You receive one voucher of £5 for each bag you hand in, with a maximum of two vouchers per day. (Vouchers redeemable on your next purchase when you spend £25 or over.)

  • Tweeted H&M customer services and they confirmed that they are offering 2 vouchers per bag of clothes this week, hurrah!

I usually fill a supermarket sized shopping bag with clothes and that is accepted at my local H&M.

That's the standard guidance for the usual exchange, but this week is a special recycling week so they're giving two vouchers per bag of clothes as a treat. Ends on the 6th! After that I'm guessing it will just go back to 1 voucher per bag as normal.
