Boots return via mail?

Not sure where to put this so I hope this is ok.
Anyone return things to Boots via the post before?
I returned a bottle of make up I recieved by post to Boots because the colour was extremly dark compared to the other bottle I had recieved ( ordered 2 within weeks of each other) I asked for a replacement as I was happy with the makeup but the bottle they sent was obviously marked wrong. I plainly wrote this on the return form. I have now recieved an email saying my ite has been shipped. I thought thats great until I looked closer and see it says my credit card has now been charged the amount  I checked the details and sure enough it says £15.50 was charged to my credit card. Now I havent been able to check my credit card yet so dont know if they credited me and then recharged me but it looks to be like they have charged me yet again. They have not charged postage just the price of the item. I was quite upset that they seem to have charged my credit card without my knowledge as well.
Now before I go ranting to boots on the phone I thought I would see if anyone else has had experience like this?

Comments

  • It is a while ago but I think I remember them crediting the returned item and then re-billing me for the replacement. However do check your credit card statement as I have had to chase boots on 3 seperate occasions to credit my card when I had returned items.
  • Sounds like a standard dispatch email goes out whenever an item is sent from the warehouse whether its the original or the replacement, so I dont think you will be charged twice.
