Dog friendly wedding venue wanted

Hello

My partner and I got engaged nearly a year ago and we keep avoiding planning the wedding as there is so much involved and we only want to spend about 4k at the most.

We want quite a casual wedding and the ceremony to allows our dog to be there, which rules out registry offices.

We live in Bristol and are looking places just outside Bristol to hold our wedding but we don't have much planning skills and are struggling to plan together without arguing (we love each other madly but neither of us like planning!) :-)

Ideally we want to get married and have the ceremony in the same location and I have my heart set on some of the lovely farms that do weddings and the reception but these aren't cheap and are beyond our budget if we wanted it on a Saturday.

Alternatively my mum has a big garden so I quite like the idea of having the reception in the garden but struggling to find a cheap venue for the wedding that allows dogs. Does anyone know if its possible to get a residential home authorised for wedding ceremony's like they do in USA?

There is some great advice on these forums which I will use, ie baking our own cake, second hand wedding dresses and putting ribbons on our own cars. We actually want a BBQ instead of a sit down dinner so that will help our budget, I am imagining a BBQ come Barn Dance type affair but I cant figure out what to do about the ceremony when the most important factor is having our dog there.

Any ideas or advice anyone has for dog friendly wedding venues in or around Bristol I would be really grateful.

Thanks

See https://www.gov.uk/approval-of-premises-for-civil-marriage-or-civil-partnership . It's not going to happen

    from this site http://www.guidesforbrides.co.uk/find/wedding-venues/bristol-and-somerset
I found http://www.littlequarme-cottages.co.uk/weddings/ which allow wedding ceremony only in thier garden.
As their cottages are dog friendly they may be open to your dog attending.

I do not have any experience of them so not a recommendation

It is possible to get your home licensed as a wedding venue but the cost of the approval process would blow your budget, not to mention the red tape involved.

Head off to the registry office without the dogs. Do the deed with two witnesses. Costs buttons.

Then arrange for a little ceremony (handfasting or something) in Mum's garden a few days later (Saturday?), doggies can be there along with friends and family. That is not a legal ceremony so no problem, but it would mark the occasion as if it was!

    Sorted.

I don't think it will be practical to have the wedding anywhere else with dogs in tow, given your budget really, you have to be realistic to achieve all your goals for your wedding.

Congratulations and best of luck for the future.

I agree with the above - have a ceremony of whatever sort you want in the garden with dogs and then do the actual legal marriage in the register office before or after.

Even if you find a venue that offers dog friendly outdoor ceremonies, you still will have to have it indoors if the weather isn't perfect, and that may spoil your doggie plans.
