    But if you are looking at the long term average you can't just disregard times when prices were exceptionally low. They have as much effect on the long term average as times when prices are exceptionally high.

    spare a thought to folks in Oz... if you think prices are going cou-cou in the UK, look at the increase in Sydney! 20% in the last 12 months and that is on top of previous peak and inflated prices!

    Prices have gone down a bit where I live, 3 bed semi in decent nick for 125,000. Honestly it's not an awful area and slap bang in the middle of three major cities and a big town, so plenty of work prospects.

    Can't get a truck driver for less than £600.00 a week, which with housing at that kind of price, seems far better than £700.00 a week in Herts and equivalent housing costs at least double that.
