Regarding the GMP, if you were a member of the scheme between 1981 and 1987, then you have a GMP and it is obviously all pre 88.

This is because the LGPS was (and currently is) contracted out, although this ends next year with the inception of the new state pension.

At one time, the state pension age for women was the same as female GMP age - 60.
The LGPS pension would be split into its component parts, pre 88 GMP, post 88 GMP and the excess.
The pre 88 GMP and the post 88 GMP (over 3%) would be index linked in payment through the state pension, with balance index linked through the scheme.
As women's state pension age increased, the LGPS index linked the whole of the pension until state pension age was reached.
For people like yourself who will receive the state pension under the new scheme, there is a question mark over how the GMP will be index linked after you reach SPA as this system ends with the new scheme.
Perhaps huybh will be among the first to hear.....:)0 -

You are making my head hurt ...
You certainly need to wrap the cold towel round the head when trying to get to the bottom of the complexities of GMP/COD...:)0
