Anti-cartel mattress!

Germany seems to have had more price fixing than the UK. Everything from opticians to fire engines to bathroom fittings to railway subcontractors. Worse than the UK or is it a case of ignorance is bliss?
An online German mattress dealer got fed up with big brand price fixing so went into mattress manufacturing himself, to produce the "Anti Cartel Mattress" range.
Germany's equivalent of Which? tested it and it came out outright top in price/performance. Competitors tried to prosecute him on the provocative product name, saying no such cartel existed. (Since then, German courts have begged to differ and fined the cartel).
FYI, a double mattress costs equivalent of circa £280.

Hah! Cool story! I wasn't really aware of any ongoing cartels or price-fixers in the UK. I'm sure it goes on in some industries, though...0
