Mortgage for discharged bankrupt?

Hi,
My brother and I are each 50% beneficiaries of our late Father's estate. I am thinking of buying out his half of our Father's house, but will need a mortgage of about 50% of the property's value to do so.
I was declared bankrupt in May 2010 and discharged in Jan 2011, so am just 9 months shy of the 6 year anniversary.
Would a mortgage be possible in my present circumstances?
Are there any particular lenders I should try or is this a job for a broker?
Many thanks for any advice.

I haven't any experience on mortgages after BR but there are plenty on the board who have - I would say the advice on here is almost always to go to a 'whole of market' broker - a 50% deposit is a great start - is there no way this can be delayed until after your 6 yrs are up?0

There are some lenders who will look at discharged bankrupts after 5 years, so if you can't wait there are some, but the range of lenders is wider after 6. Definitely one for a broker.0

Thanks for the replies.
I'll be looking for a broker tomorrow.
I would like to delay until the spring but my bro is impatient...0
