2 Year Fix - Not 24 months of fixed payments?

Hi guys,
Probably a stupid question, but just want to double check that I'm understanding this correctly.
If our mortgage is fixed until 30th Septmember 2017, and we didn't move in until say February, does this mean we wouldn't get the full 24 months at the fixed rate and would only get a year and a half of the low monthly payments before it jumps up?

Correct.

Check that the mortgage offer will still be valid if you don't complete until February.
