Comps closing early

Options
Just clicked on all the OK!, Express, Daily Star comps - and they've all expired and replaced with next month's comps even though the terms clearly stated 6pm 28.08.15 as the end date.

Why even have a time in the terms if you are going to ignore it? Next month's all have a similar 6pm on 28th end date - expect the same next month.

I know it's advised to try to be a couple of days ahead so you don't fall into this trap but sometimes you fall behind. Would be good if the comps didn't shift the goalposts!

Don't get me started on ones that say 'closes on 28.08' when in actual fact they mean 11.59pm the day before because come the stroke of midnight they're expired (PushChairExpert i'm looking at you amongst others). Why not say the day before?

Rants over... for now!

That's only if you must end date, the advice would be to do them much nearer the time they are added and nowhere near the possible end date (early closures is just one of the many reasons not to end date)

A good point well made. I hear you on the not end-dating advice. It's hard though if you slip behind. I've been on both sides of the fence (seem to have won more since end-dating) but once you slip behind, it's very hard to get ahead of yourself again unless you just accept starting afresh and missing a large chunk of comps that are already posted.

Maybe i'll catch up again one day.

there's a counter on these comps & it has them ending at noon so I think the T&Cs are wrong

I saw this and couldn't enter them either! Usually those particular ones don't end earlier than what they say in the terms. I have won with OK before, entering last minute and have won a lot from elsewhere even though I end date majority of the time (literally last minute entries)

I fully agree with you that I think if they're going to be specific in the terms that they should stick to it unless there's a reason beyond their control to close them early.
It's obviously wiser to enter them early on in a lot of instances but I agree with you that it isn't always doable for everyone all of the time :)
