Can I freeze evaporated milk?

I only want to use 1/2 a tin, can I freeze the rest for another time?

Hi MRS.P I've just googled that question and yes evaporated milk can be frozen in a sealed container for up to 6 weeks, it might separate on thawing though. Advice is to defrost in the fridge and should it separate give it a good whisking and that should recombine it and make it useable, hope that helps, Lyn xxx.

Evaporated milk can be used to make kulfi, which is Indian ice cream, so freezing won't be a problem.

14 ounce can evap milk
14 ounce can condensed milk
300 mls double cream
Your chosen flavouring
( apologies for mixing Imperial and Metric)

Flavourings - ground cardamom and chopped pistachios
Pureed mango
A little almond or vanilla extract
A splodge of lemon curd ( not very Indian but I like it)

Mix ingredients thoroughly, put into moulds and freeze. Take out of freezer 30 minutes before serving to soften a bit.
