Considering a Mortgage

Long story short, my partner is looking to change jobs, but this will involve us having to move from work-provided accomodation. We are considering trying to buy somewhere before the job hunting starts. We have a good deposit saved up. A close family member has also offered to help. They are employed and mortgage free so would they be able to help take out the mortgage along with my partner, or even all three of us (Although my wage is very low so almost not worth considering). I am very aware that this might not sound all that sensible a plan, so was really looking for advice/ opinions or alternative suggestions.
I realise what I probably should do is a lot of research and seek professional advice etc.

Are you moving area? Might be better to rent until you know the locality better.0

Thanks for the replies. No we are not moving area, we are hoping not to have to move our son out of the school he is at. We would prefer to buy for security as we have had to move regularly in the past due to landlords selling the property etc. and we are settled in the area.0

Yes, you can take the mortgage loan along with your partner. But before proceeding, it would be better to take advice from residential mortgage consultant.0
