First post! I've looked and I'm not sure what else to search, so here goes. If I missed a previous answer please just point me there. My wife has a student overdraft of £1400 which we haven't managed to pay off yet. It should've gone to a Graduate and then to a normal one in steps, with the interest-free bit gradually…

My husband's has also been forgotten (£1000) and he graduated in 2008 (after a PhD so a long time after he first opened the account in 1997). They still haven't noticed and we have the £1000 sat elsewhere earning us interest until they do notice. If they still haven't noticed by the time we want to remortgage (four years from now) we'll just pay it off.
